The Joseph Bau House is an artist’s workshop and museum in Tel Aviv dedicated to Joseph Bau, Israel’s first animator, painter, graphic artist, poet, author, Holocaust survivor, and Mossad document forger. Joseph’s art and work reflect his humor, love for life, and commitment to remembrance. His bravery as Oskar Schindler’s assistant, creating forged documents that saved over 1,200 Jews, and his posthumous recognition for his work with the Mossad highlight his remarkable legacy.

The museum, run by his daughters, displays his animated films, paintings, and tools, preserving his story with humor and inspiration. Located at 9 Berdichevsky Street in Tel Aviv, the Joseph Bau House Museum ranks as one of Tel Aviv’s top attractions. In 2023-2024 Trip Advisor chose the Joseph Bau House Museum in the top 1% of best attractions worldwide, Best of the Best.

However, due to impending demolition, the museum urgently needs a new location. Securing the Future: To ensure the museum’s survival, a $100,000 feasibility study with Gallagher and Associates will explore potential sites and sustainable business plans for relocation. Your support can help preserve this invaluable legacy. Visit the museum in person or schedule a virtual tour to learn more.
