Petition to Save the "BAU HOUSE" Museum
There is a special museum in Tel-Aviv built on the site of Joseph Bau's studio. Bau, a Holocaust survivor, worked there for many years as a graphic artist, painter, caricaturist, animator, author and poet while all this time serving his country as a graphic artist for the "Mossad".
Joseph Bau was a legend in life and death. Steven Spielberg , the creator of "Schindler's List" depicted his story, including his marriage to his wife Rebecca inside the concenration camp under the Nazi's noses. His daughters, Hadasa and Clila Bau have been struggling for years to preserve this unique site that honors the city and its inhabitants.
The uniqueness of the museum is in the many artifacts from the beginning of the Israeli film industry, the first animated movies, advertisements, caricatures, miniature cinema and animation equipment, all self made. His daughters commemorate him in song, poetry and readings from his books as well as recalling his extraordinary tales of survival during the Holocaust and his contribution to Israel's security.
The city of Tel-Aviv has an important role in maintaining and preserving this honorable museum for the current and future generations lest they forget the Holocaust together with studying the history of Israeli cinema since its earliest days.
